About Us

Who is True Treasures?

True Treasures began in 1991; and today the business consists of three locations, all located less than five miles from each other. True Treasures offers fine consignments, antiques, and collectibles from repeat consigners, private estate collections and importers; everything beautiful for the home for treasure seekers looking for recycled nostalgia.  “I want to have variety for everyone,” says Mrs. Johnson speaking about her philosophy , “ I want them to come and see the unexpected. If they come every day, they’ll always find different things. Customers will come up and ask me, ‘What is that?’ That’s the fun of it, you can find all sorts of things and  I’m always delighted to explain.” And the price points of the merchandise reflect the enormous variety. Mrs. Johnson says, “I have things for five dollars, and I have furniture, paintings, or collectibles on the floor worth thousands.” We are a member of the chamber of commerce and have been a member of the better business bureau since 2003, we are currently rated an A+ member.

Owners’ Brief Professional Biographies:

After completing Interior Design School in New York, Elena O’Brien Johnson quickly landed a position with the most prestigious firm in Houston, Texas. Client-wise her interior designs drew movie stars, oil barons, and members of the Fortune-500 crowd. As Elena’s success grew she opened her own design firm Rova Interiors. Special assignments included the quarters of Madam Chaing Kai Shek and the Baron Paul de Portanova whose homes range from Houston to Acapulco to Monte Carlo. Equally exciting is the legendary history of Col. Howard “Scrappy” Johnson whose distinguished Air Force career includes flying 15 different fighter planes. He was awarded 2 silver stars, 7 distinguished flying crosses, 18 air medals and the Collier Trophy for breaking the world’s altitude record. It was in October 1967 that Col. Johnson completed his 117th mission over North Vietnam in the F-105. He also became the founder and first president of the Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Association that still prospers and has given hundreds of scholarships to sons and daughters of POWs and MIAs. He has also recently been inducted in the Kentucky Aviation Hall of Fame.

Here are two interesting and dynamic people now at the edge of retirement, finding that life is sweet, meeting and greeting people here in the Palm Beaches and from all parts of the world at their three shops in Palm Beach Gardens and North Palm Beach.
